From May 25, 2018, the provisions governing the protection of personal data have changed dramatically. Under the European Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), new obligations have been imposed on entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurs, regardless of the industry, were forced to get involved in building their own personal data protection system, adequate to the profile of their business. Penalties for failure to fulfill obligations can reach up to EUR 20 million or 4% of the annual global turnover of a given entrepreneur.

The GDPR requires entrepreneurs, within the limits set by law, to determine the nature of their personal data and the risks associated with their processing, and to implement appropriate safeguards.
